I go on Oxygen above 9K. Flying at 17.5 VFR is pretty fun. Not much uncontrolled traffic up there. Above FL180 I have no desire to do again in a non pressurized aircraft unless its a critical situation to get above some nasty weather. but, yeah.. 10K. no worries. grow a set! :)

Frost can be a pain in the a$$.. Buy a small container of TKS fluid or have an FBO that sells it fill up a spray bottle for you to keep it handy. My Cirrus uses TKS so I keep a 50 gal drum around, but the stuff will make quick work of frost plus it will hang around for a bit on the wings while...

I was looking at flightaware a few minutes ago and watching the live traffic flying over where I live. I was amazed to see how many guys are flying through the icing layers in non-fiki aircraft with all the pireps and icing forecast. These guys are on IFR flight plans too. Did they even check...

I used to be able to get the 182 in around 600'-800'. I am cursed or something with the Cirrus. Best so far is about 1200' but that can easily turn into a 4000' landing at times. :)
