    Air-to-Air Cessna 182

It's always fun for me to see the results of a photoshoot. The editors of Cessna Owner Organization do an amazing job on the layout!

    Waco YKC Crash

I don't think I met Dave & Jeanne Allen, but I always loved their beautiful Waco YKC. Very sad day in aviation. Husband & Wife Restoration Team Killed in Crash

    Cessna Owner Organizations

I would recommend the one I work for... Cessna Owner Organization Their name is even in your subject line! I might be biased since I'm their photographer, but it's is a really good group and has been helpful to me.

    Oshkosh 2024 - Who's going?

Gotcha. Oh well, it was a good segue for me!

    Oshkosh 2024 - Who's going?

Should be easier to get out the next morning after the night show now. There is a new rule for Thu, July 25 only. They expect a lot of departures on Thursday morning, people who stayed for the Wednesday night airshow. Don't get to Fisk until 8AM! Beginning Thursday, July 20, 2024, OSH is...

    Airventure Arrival Practice

I always camp in Vintage. I follow the rules and don't reply unless I'm asked a question. Last year I was the 3rd person to arrive at Fisk at 7AM and there nobody behind me. I was told me to follow the railroad tracks up to 27. I asked if I could have 36L since I was camping in Vintage and...

    EAA Lifetime Membership - Expired!

I don't fly my 182 upside-down often though, so I'm not their target audience.

    EAA Lifetime Membership - Expired!

Honestly when I posted it, I had misread it and truly believed it said my Lifetime Membership expired 21 years ago! I edited the post to add that it hadn't, but figured it was still a fun conversation. It does make me feel old to know I dropped out of IAC that many years ago though.

    EAA Lifetime Membership - Expired!

Agree, makes no financial sense. I paid $1395 / 48 = 29 years. I'm 50, so I'll be 79 when it pays for itself... not sure if I'll still be flying then! Yup. BTW, did I tell you that I'm better than you!

    EAA Lifetime Membership - Expired!

It wasn't real, I just read it wrong! My IAC Membership expired, but the way it looked, I read it as my Lifetime had expired!

    EAA Lifetime Membership - Expired!

Some days I feel like I did!

    EAA Lifetime Membership - Expired!

I had a lifetime membership to a gym once. Then Gold's Gym bought them out and wouldn't honor my membership.

I sure thought for a minute I had died back in 2003!

    EAA Lifetime Membership - Expired!

EAA sent me an email offering $100 off if I became a Lifetime Member. I've always thought about doing it, so I did it. I can't tell you why. There's no real financial benefit. I get a jacket that I don't really want. I get a plaque that I don't really want. I get a cool sticker. Admission...

    Extra Canopy Opens in flight

Reminds me of when Matt Jackson had the canopy implode in Strega going 500 mph. He told me he had just put his face shield down before it happened and he didn't know why he did it. If he hadn't, the glass would've blinded him.

    A 182 straight tail fly-in

Yeah, my Uncle wanted me to come visit him. He said, "I'll pay for the fuel". I laughed and told him what it would cost. Changed his mind. I figure 15 hours round trip to OSH, fuel burn in cruise is 11 gph, but round up to 14 , roughly $5/gallon = $1050 in fuel. Add in other expenses and...

    A 182 straight tail fly-in

I would if I wasn't about to fly to Oshkosh!! Gets expensive!!

    A 182 straight tail fly-in

Sure looks like fun, and I have a straight-tail 182. Unfortunately, it's 1148 mile, 9 hour flight, so I won't be making it this time.
