    Time between filing and flying

They may be but they don’t print out until 30 minutes prior to your proposed departure time. Pro tip, when you call clearance delivery for your clearance, tell them your proposed departure time. Because if you file and expect your clearance within 15 minutes, the computer will assume its already...

    Piper Cherokee fuel gauge?

Well in his defense, my Cherokee was built in October 1969. The serial number says it’s a 1970 but all the paperwork says it’s a 69

    Piper Cherokee fuel gauge?

Absolutely! Since I went with an EI engine monitor I took out all the old gauges too and replaced it with a strip of leather that matches the interior. I love my Cies senders, very accurate to the 10th of a gallon

This one is VERY hard to listen to...I'm guessing another "cognitive decline"...

It’s very frustrating as a controller to give an instruction and not have it acknowledged in busy airspace. This guy didn’t answer them several times or follow the heading instructions. I’ve felt their pain several times and it’s caused mostly by C-130 pilots. Have I mentioned that before?

    Altitude question

They would only care if you dipped into their altitude for an unusual amount of time. You’re good, no worries

If [BLANK] is what you find too expensive about flying...

You’re leaving out the fee to match drill the old one to the new one and removal and installation but yeah, I feel your pain

    I Hate Enterprise

Funny how people are peeved at one company but not another. They’re interchangeable. What mean by that is, for example I had a reservation with Alamo two weeks ago for a 10 day rental. Alamo counter was empty. The nice lady at the enterprise counter said “They’re gone, I’ll take care of you”...

    Why haven't you been to a POA fly-in ?

I’ve been to 2 1/2 fly ins here in the SW. The 1/2 was that I got 30 minutes away from Sedona and had to turn back because of electrical issues. Those that I attended were just wonderful considering they were just one day affairs. We don’t seem to have as many scheduled fly ins out here as you...

    One cylinder coming in low...

If it isn’t making metal and oil consumption isn’t terrible, fly it. Your next compression test may be different.

    Piper fuel selector upgrade

Cost of the new valve and about 3 hours of labor. Not a very big deal. Most of it is taking off the side panel and reinstalling it

    Multiple Recent ATC Errors...Why?

Still working as a GS but work closely with the FAA. We have the same standards and take the same tests. The old heads are complaining about the new hires just as I described

    Multiple Recent ATC Errors...Why?

As an answer to the OP, in my opinion its relaxed standards at the school house. When I went through, we started with 25 students and I graduated with 7. Those that didn’t pass were washed back or out. When I got to my first assignment there were 6 trainees. All of us were rated within 8 months...

the "not worthy of it's own thread" thread

United sucks. Show up 2 hours before my flight. ONE agent checking bags for approximately 200 people. Finally get checked then missed the flight by 10 minutes. Now rescheduled through Denver. Flight is delayed and my connecting flight begins boarding 4 minutes before I land. My only hope is...

For those of us lucky to have met Jeff, you already know. For those who haven’t had the pleasure, he is a warm, kind hearted person who treats you an as equal although his accomplishments in life eclipses those of most of us. You would never know that he’s a lawyer. ;) Jeff and I have exchanged...
