Well, it's "Notice to Airmen" again

How about just "NOTAM" no longer being an acronym and just being what we all call them anyway? Everyone is happy
Or actual NOTAM reform so that I'm not presented with 9 pages of various VOR radials and random comm tower lights being INOP so that I can see things that may actually present a real danger to my flight?

IDK. I kind of feel like that unlit tower 5.7nm NW of the field at 63' AGL is critical information, as is the scheduled model rocket launch 3 weeks from now 87.6 miles north east of my location that will be active for 1 hour.
How can I reasonably go fly and consider myself a safe pilot if I'm not equipped with this information?

Exactly…I mean, if you have an engine failure and have to land off-airport, you’d definitely want to know about the tower. And unforecast headwinds that slow you down enough that the rocket launch could be a factor…

What about the Airman's Information Manual or position and hold?

Exactly!
In fact, let me just update my emergency checklist here...

UPDATE: I spoke too soon... I just found this: https://www.faa.gov/regulations_pol...fm/go/document.information/documentID/1043524

The document does look official... But there is NO other reference to it anywhere on faa.gov or anywhere else that I can find. So I wonder if this guy is doing a one off in his own region.
:duno: Why would you expect more than one link on https://www.faa.gov to an FAA notice? Page where they mention the notice and link to it is typical.

What "region" do you speak of? The notice is from AJV-P, which handles a lot of air traffic matters.

Don’t care as long as they let me know when they are launching rockets over the Gulf of America.

So drone operators are now considered "Airmen."
