Sorry man. That sucks. My last hour of flight last night I could see me breath with OAT of 0f. I can only imagine today’s weather is worse for you guys.

The bird is back in the hangar. We did have to make 1 hypothermia related unscheduled stop at MTO. Well, we saw HUF go IFR and we didn’t want to hold. I saw -9F on the leg to Chicago. Luckily we also saw ~185kts GS and this gorgeous sunset.

Everything froze, beer, water, us. I’m still cleaning and unpacking so now I figure I’d thaw a beer:

Thanks Bryan for the fly in! We’ll do it again but maybe pack a fireplace in the back instead of all the unused camping gear!

Was it worth it?

Did those that came to like this is something we should do annually?

It's so easy for me being an hour from there but it's a simple answer but I know some of you guys traveled a long way in some really tough weather even though I promised you 60° in Texas in January lol!

I felt like the price was fine and the runway is super well maintained and for those that flew in the approaches pretty stinking cool over that lake.

For those of you that worked a lot harder than me to get there would you come back?

I will happily come back provided there is reliable heat in whatever mode of transportation I use to get there!! It was really nice seeing everyone!! Thank you SixPapaCharlie and Eren for making the pizzas! They were great!!

ok I loved it but it is hard not to love when I can run home and grab anything I forgot.
So I will do another and the big takeaway I saw is that Next year, @eman1200 will be attending as well ;)

Thanks to everyone that came out. And those that are interested in trying next year.
I felt the cabins were top notch and the restaurant was really good as long as @kaiser was able to get a straw in his beverage.
No ice shall ever touch the top lip of Kaiser. Or Jalapenos, I forget what rule number 3 was.
There were a lot of rules.

I’d do it again. I looked at FlightAware and it was a single leg of 800 miles. Pretty much anyone @eman1200 with a Mooney @eman1200 can easily do 800 miles @eman1200 . Kind of weird how @eman1200 is also 800 @eman1200 miles away. But yeah, not January.

Absolutely yes. Considering it is driving distance and that made it possible to attend at all. It was my fist POA get together and I'll give it 4.5 stars.

I would. Great location and facilities. Maybe in March for warmer weather?
I kinda like there being a January fly-in (even though I couldn't make it this time). It's too hard to find places to go this time of year, so I tend to not fly enough. The more evenly spaced we can make these events (both temporally and geographically) the better!
