Narrowing my auto engine searches and I'll need a speed reducer. Most of the off-the-shelf options are geared or cog belt designs, and most of these are airboat products. I'd love to hear some firsthand experience with psrus and the pros and cons.

I'd prefer to build my own, but I'd like to fly sooner than later.

The search function on homebuiltairplanes.com will deliver a bunch of info (including quite a bit from people who design stuff like that for a living). However, they may have changed it to a pay for play site.

$100 per year! My wife married a feller, not a Rockefeller!

If you balk at that you are are gonna have an aneurysm if you pursue this further. I own a boat (25ft center console bay boat) and a plane I built (RV-10) and ain’t nothing cheap in either pursuit.

Yeah, it is really odd. It was free when I joined and I've never paid a dime other than making a donation or two. No way I'd pay $100/yr, but it is a great repository of information.

It is still free for a basic subscription ... :)

I haven't experienced any of that but I've been a member for a number of years ...
