Is there a place I can get some touch up paint in a spray can?

thx

Some NAPA auto parts stores will do custom colors in a rattle can, too. That's what I used to repaint the N-struts on my Parrakeet.

Only problem is they spray a pretty wide pattern, not so good for small areas... I used a small airbrush for that.

I had a hard time getting a good match even using their top of the line electronic sensor thingy, on same part.

Sherwin Williams I think…

Get a touch up gun from Harbor Freight and borrow an air compressor. Then you can use 2K paint and proper primer.

Following. I flew through rain last week and didn't realize what it was going to do to the leading edge of my wings. They look like they were sand blasted.

I've been avoiding buying air compressor because it will inevitably lead to the briar patch of building an airplane.

So make sure you buy a 5 hp compressor with an 80 gallon tank. Then you can run a blast cabinet.

Yep, buying an air compressor is a major step down the path from plane owner to DIY guy.

My favorite use is spray washing the engine with mineral spirits, which I do at every oil change.

Please elaborate as I own an air compressor and have a lot of mineral spirits.

FYI: make sure the paint you buy is compatible with the original paint.
THIS ^^^^ paints have different solvents and they don't all get along. Example: never apply lacquer or butyl dope over enamel, trust me on this

If you paint a antenna and Polane is out of your price range, a good grade of urethane marine paint will probably work just fine. Just make sure it's not a metallic pigment (or get a clear-coat). do not use paint with metal in it.
You should never paint a GPS antenna because the finish is calibrated into the tuning.

Buy a basic airbrush off Amazon, they are battery rechargeable now- they are perfect for touch ups. You just get basic auto paint at a local parts store.

The airbrush gives you far more control than a rattle can or even a harbor freight detail gun, you can do tiny chips w the airbrush as you can just ease the trigger w a feathers touch and get paint into the tiniest chip without a bunch of overspray or need to tape. Other nice thing is it’s reusable where a rattle can could go bad…

I just helped some friends touched up a Skyhawk I should have got pics. It was the perfect tool for the job
