T-51 crash, Geneva, OH

Very sad. John was a great guy, fun to hang out with and always had a joke and a good story.
 
I have no idea what’s around the area, sounds like he was low, but had a little smack. No sense worrying about the engine, it ain’t coming back.
That road does look tight, then the power lines on one side. I was flying the other day, evaluating a few road options, farm country. It’s not easy to always see poles & lines from altitude.
I lean to just taking the soybean field, of course he may not of had options.
 
From what I read in the prelim, it sounded as if the prop went through a phase of rapid-onset entropic self-disassembly. Any thoughts on what could cause that?
Prop control was found full forward. Overspeed? Gear box going to direct drive, how could THAT happen? I have no clue. :dunno:
