If I recollect correctly:
The tires on the F-104 are only good for 6 landings.
They required 7+ hours of maintenance for every hour flown.
(This one is a little fuzzy) Maneuvering speed was in excess of 180 kts and you couldn't slow below 175 kts.
 
Wow, if that price is valid, it has gone WAY up. IIRC, they used to have prices on the website, and I was remembering less than $15000.

I went to Ukraine many years ago and flew the L-29, Su-25 and Mig-29
