ZDC ARTCC evacuated due to fire

Yup.
  • ATC ZERO FCA013 CREATED FOR ANALYZING TRAFFIC THROUGH ZDC, the ZDC airport was closed as of Jul 10 at 22:55 UTC. The date/time when the airport is expected to reopen is Jul 11 at 01:00 UTC.
  • ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES IN THE CONTROL ROOM, departure traffic destined to ZDC airport will not be allowed to depart until at or after 02:00 UTC.
Many delays over this.
 
Didn't take long to find news stories that refer to "Washington Center Control Tower".
 
IAD is a mess just left after our crew timed out and flight was cancelled. A few flights are taking off.

Our captain said ops initially wanted our gate so some of the large international flights could deplane but then said the airport was going to go get them with the mobile lounges like in the old days.
 
Soooooo happy not to be working tonight. I've had enough of this summer storms crap this year.
