Hey guys and gals I have been trying to figure out how we can get young people into aviation. I have a website dedicated to this. Any ideas?

Support EAA's YOUNG EAGLES program. Sponsor one of their events. Find one near you and make it a mission to introduce children to aviation.
Take a child for a flight. Give them a certificate and a gift. Let them spread the word you'll fly a child for free.
Go talk to a local school principal about hosting an aviation day. Find a Scout troop interested in an aviation merit badge.
Have a few children of your own and influence away.

We throw events here called Youth Aviation Adventure. The program was developed with the help of Ohio State University. There have been groups recreating the events all over the country.

Check it out here.. http://www.youthaviationadventure.org/

edit - i see after checking your site that you have Youth Aviation Adventure linked in your site. Thanks!

All good ideas. Just have to get to work on one of those plans.

I just got back from a weekend at Flabob Airport in Riverside, CA. (More on that later.)

Check out the Wathen Aviation Academy for some ideas.

Also consider promoting the AeroScholars online high school aviation courses.

While at Flabob I met a few people who have gotten kids involved in aircraft building and restoration. Helping build aircraft was what really got me started in aviation. Take a look at the Build a Plane organization.

The EAA Air Academy has great programs as well.

The Girl Scouts have an aerospace badge. The Chicago Chapter of the 99's has for a number of years held an aviation badge day where they put a few hundred girl scouts through a half-day program looking at many aspects of aviation, from aerodynamics to history to careers. I wrote about my experience helping out there at http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6990, and a couple others here (ehitch and lwprellwitz) participated to a much greater extent than I did.

PS, I don't know if it will be held this year because the 99's are holding their international conference in Chicago, so the local chapter is pretty swamped setting that up, and may not have the bandwidth for the Girl Scouts too.
