What is it? Flying is certainly my most expensive hobby, but recently my shooting hobby is certainly occupying the #2 spot.

If I had to pay for skydiving instead of getting paid, it would be that. So instead I'll say shooting. (Nice) Guns ain't cheap!

I would have said golf but I mostly gave that up so I had more cash for flying. ok I mostly gave that up cause I suck at it.

I guess I can't count raising children as a hobby? All my hobbies went away when they were born. I've gotten flying back. I guess my (performing) music is my next expensive hobby, although I get paid to do it.

Tell the truth... Hobby 1 is Flying. Hobby 2 is lying about flying and ragging on people on PoA.

Barely enough time to work after those... oh, and sexing up my girlfriend. But that never interferes with flying.

When you said "expensive" were you talking in terms of cash out of wallet? Or does time equate to an expense in some way? I think we called that Opportunity Cost when I was at some sort of University studying Economics.

Saltwater fishing, boats, boat maintenance, boat fuel all run a close second to flying! I do get to fly a lot more than I get to fish!

I was going to say my wife, but @mscard88 beat me by a long shot. lol

Guns, building computers, paintball, etc.

I guess, in reality, browsing the internet would be my most expensive hobby. I waste so much valuable time!

I have many hobbies, but just like flying I intentionally don't keep track of expenses. Guns/photography/astronomy/amateur radio/motorcycles. It's a wonder I can put clothes on my kids' backs.

My travel addiction financially rivals my flying addiction. I'm not sure which one wins out on highest cost... guessing flying, but I try to keep my head in the sand when math is involved.

I know right? I mean, that's what a good autopilot can do for you. It will even trim out the WB shift!

Mile high club? Shhhhhheeeeeeeetttt. I own that club.

I've been writing and self-publishing books. I consider it a hobby but more money has come in from it than I have spent doing it.

Probably pimping my house/seaplane base out

Where you fish mostly? What you fish for? Ever heard of Smitty's Belts?
I fish out if Destin, I like off shore trolling when the weather is decent, wife likes bottom fishing for snapper and grouper, more action! Not familiar with Smitty's belts.

Flying IS #2.
My wife breeds horses. Makes my airplane look like an affordable pastime. :(
Same for me. Flying is #2. My wife does not breed horses but we have horses and spend more on them than flying. My wife's parents were horse breeders and show judges in multiple horse associations like Quarter Horse, Palomino, Paint's and etc. It's in her blood. She was riding horses before she could walk. At least she never gives me any grief over my plane.

Being a fighter pilot has to be at least a tie for most money out of my paycheck. (lots of hidden financial costs)

After that, travel, motorcycles, guns, dogs - it was skydiving for a while but I've basically quit that - no time!

I think motorcycles are second. When I bought my 182 I sold all but one motorcycle...my beloved Yamaha FJR1300. Ironically, I now store it in my hangar.

Firearms is a very close second though. New guns just seem to follow me home.

I've done the boat thing too numerous times & several RVs.
