The caveat to that is keeping the dog in a crate for the entire duration that it’s on board. You can’t blame the dog. It’s the owner’s responsibility to look after their pet.I have a dog and I absolutely love him, but a commercial plane is no place for a dog..!

strictly speaking, this is true, but so few people exercise any kind of personal responsibility. All of that has been transposed onto the schools, the government, pretty much everybody else but the individual. And, if this truly was a service dog, then depending on whatever the owner's disability was there may not have been much they could do about the fecal matter caked all over the seats..owner’s responsibility
Was the gin to clean or to forget...if to clean seems like a terrible waste of gin. If to forget them not nearly enough..Pretty pathetic response from someone trying to beva world class airline, to be given nothing but a small bottle of gin and two paper towels
and honestly, I have a dog and I absolutely love him, but a commercial plane is no place for a dog..!
I wondered the same..Pretty sure the 'service dog' was not actually a trained animal but rather a pet. There would be no reason for a true service dog to even be on the seat.
Something else I wonder.. is *WHY* are you not required to show some kind of documentation that your animal is actually a SERVICE animal.. as in, you are blind and it sees for you.. and the dog has been properly trained for its task by some accredited entity??
Like many sad stories, this one begins with 'because congress, with the best of intentions, wrote a law....'.
Yeah, I often doubt the “best of intentions” part.
A significant problem is that there isn't any properly accredited entity. There are lots of scam organizations out there willing to provide you with all sorts of stuff saying the hound from the pound is a "properly trained service pooch". See the linked article for additional data....and the dog has been properly trained for its task by some accredited entity??
