If the Lord had intended for iced tea to be sweet, He would have planted tea leaves in Hawaii next to the sugar cane fields.

Sugar cane was imported into Hawaii from SE Asia about when the European explorers brought it there. Later tea was brought into Hawaii were lately it has really started to boom as sugar production has decreased.

So there you have tea and sugar cane 'grown next' to each other.
