I'm a pretty average pilot in my local area but compared to you guys down south I'm 100% STOL. I have no use for a low wing airplane. High wing taildraggers dominate my world.

I've owned high wing, low wing and biplanes. I like them all...with tailwheels.

That's why I'm interested in Commanders. Two doors!

One of the things I liked about the Duchess over the Baron. I could load all the passengers and close the co-pilot door from the outside and then walk around and get in my own door.

But....the Baron goes a heck of a lot faster while carrying a much bigger load.

Not too many low wing planes with bush wheels landing short on gravel bars... Airliners have low wings these days, and nose gear. I guess if you have miles of runway and you're in a hurry all the time then a sit-on-top makes sense.

The Sierra has 3 huge doors. Not sure why piper couldn't the same
