All seriousness aside, though, no idea, I'd have to guess a drawing glitch, without reading tons (almost literally) of documentation. Garmin isn't exactly known for an intuitive UI so this could be anything.

P.S.: Love all the greasy fingerprints on the screen. NOT!

The blue squares are routine PIREPs according to the GTN 750 manual. I have no idea what the blue line is.

I don't believe it to be a glitch, it is too purposeful with the white borders, etc. Notice also on the lower right of the screen there is another blue line pointing south-ish. Did these only show up in those precip areas? Might be some obscure nexrad setting

Didn't @azure say it was cold on Saturday? My guess is that it's a freezing level line, see section 12.1.11 of the pilot guide.

It was, but the OP's picture sure doesn't match figure 12-21, which shows freezing levels as contour lines with the altitudes marked. Totally different appearance. I fly with a 480, not a 750, so I have no idea what that line could be.

You might want to shoot Paul Sanchez (@sanchezpaulk I think his username is) a PM. He seems to be up on the arcane features of pretty much all the popular avionics.

Well, here is the answer from Garmin.

The support specialist had to go higher up the ladder to find the answer, but here it is from Garmin:



"The blue lines that you saw are route PIREPs. They are reported along the particular route that the aircraft was flying."
