Just one ridiculous thing out of many.

It will be leaving Paramount+ soon if you want to torture yourself.
 
I knew what movie it was before opening the thread. During that scene, I wondered why this airplane had no door to the cockpit, in front of the wing. Then later, I saw that it did.....

We watched “on a wing and a prayer” on prime last night. About the king air who’s pilot died and passenger w some raining was in co pilots seat and landed it successfully. It was way overdone and drawn out. Could have been great but was a big disappointment too, and way too full of religious preaching for a movie for my tastes…

Not to mention the guy in real life had hundreds of hours of flight time and in the movie they said he only had one discovery flight. you're telling me a Private Pilot or commercial pilot with 100s of hours can't figure out how to fly a King Air.

Think about it. The fuel line is leaking. You pour alcohol in tank so the gaskets swell and seal themselves. Makes sense to me. (Like I'd pour perfectly good booze in the tank.)
 
Looks like someone posted the complete film on YouTube. I guess the intellectual property isn't considered valuable enough to defend! ;)

Sure, that's reasonable on a low wing... in fact who hasn't done that?

On a high wing? That's some serious shark jumping happening there.

There is a video floating around somewhere (yes I am lazy) featuring someone trying to skydive out of a Piper.

It looked seriously painful, and I suspect flesh was consumed in the process, and probably flap and aileron metal as well.
 
Worst ever? How about the Denzel Washington movie about a drunk pilot using his exceptional skill to crash an aircraft? Can't remember the name of it. Not a fault of the acting, the plot was just silly to me.
 
Pushing Tin is still my worst to-date, but I'll check this out on paramount to compare :D

Sounds like "Flight," in which he handles some sort of problem by taking the airliner inverted. (I don't remember why.)

90% of aviation movies are drek. Probably the same percentage for other movies involving tech of some kind. Wait. . .probably 90% of movies in general. I walked seven - eight miles to see a twin-bill of the Blue Max and Fantastic Voyage. Sat through both, twice - Blue Max was solid, with stunning photography. Fantastic Voyage had Raquel Welch in a wet suit. And I was 13. . .

Duuuude... The Blue Max had Ursula Andress. Topless (well, with a strategically-placed towel).

If you had 1/2 a brain, you noticed a bunch of incredible plot holes in "Fantastic Voyage" (e.g., how a miniature submarine filled its tanks with normal air in the lungs, why the scientist's body wasn't blown apart by enlarging submarine wreckage at the end). The novelization (written by Isaac Azimov) closed all the loopholes....

A few years ago, I was chatting with one of our test pilots at Lockheed about some movie or another. He said, "If flying were anything like it's shown in the movies, I'd never climb into an airplane." I replied, "Yeah, but if movies were anything like real life I'd never go into a theater."

exactly… I get some “artistic license” but it was taken too far n ruined a good story

Did they spend 15 minutes on the event and 75 minutes on a mostly made up version of the NTSB investigation, like a certain infamous flying movie about the world's only amphibious Airbus A320?

Yeah, Sully was a great movie until they got to the BS portrayal of the investigation.
 

Explorers was pretty lame. A Tilt-a-Whril is not gonna fly. I don't care how many aliens are involved. /s

You take it back. Such blasphemy! It is a great piece of, mostly true, commentary about the plight of the forgotten people of aviation. Don't minimize their pain. Controlling is hard. Physics is harder.
