I've heard the Bridgestone Blizzak is good. I've never liked any Michelin tire on any car I've ever owned.

What's your favorite winter tire?

I have the Blizzaks on my wife's 2wd Jeep Liberty here in AK. Not great on ice, but more than adequate in the snow.

I have switched three of my four cars to Michelin tires. I was a Goodyear man, but then I put M's Pilot Sports on my M-Roadster and loved them. I then switched my truck over to Michelin LTX's on. I did like the ride much better than the Good Year Wrangle RTs that had been on. The Michelin did better int eh snow than the Goodyears that I did have on. The M-Roadster tires are not made for winter so there is not comparision there.

The other car is a Honda Accord and I just put those on so I have no comparision to what was there before. But what was there were Fulda's and I really hated the ride on those in the summer as well as the winter. It always felt like the sidewalls were real weak.

Whatever tires are on there now are what I normally go with.

Brand new set of Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor in 30x9.50R15/C went on the Jeep Wrangler a couple weeks ago. Goodyear rates them better than their Wrangler MT/R in the snow. Some other Goodyears on my wife's 2006 Jeep Commander. They're whatever came from the factory and have over 40,000 miles on them. We'll see how they do this winter. Not that we get much snow, but when we do we need all the help we can get to get up the hill from the house to get out of the neighborhood.

I used to run Michelins all the time, but I haven't tried them on the Jeeps. Worked well on all my other cars.

Another plug for the blizzaks. I have them on a Subaru Outback and like them better than studded tires, though in all fairness it is a light vehicle.

I have Michelin Pilots on one, and run flat something or others on the other one (that won't see snow anyway). Haven't had problems with the Pilots BUT we don't get bad snowstorms here (knock on wood)...

I put Blizzak LM-22s on my wifes 530i. It's a totally different car in the snow with them on. Great in snow and slush, not great on ice, but what tire is without studs. Decent dry weather ride too, which is nice. Highly recommended.

33x12.50x15 BFG Mud Terrain KM2's. :D

I used to be a Michelin and Toyo buyer. Then I read good consumer reviews on the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred... had to special order them, but was more than worth it. Ride quality, noise level, traction and wear are beyond my experience with any other tire. My absolute favorite tire of choice now. Have them on all my cars. When they wear out, I special order them in again.

ditto. My driving skills gets me through the harsh SoCal winters.

Yeah, with overnight lows reaching the lower 40s.

My mom put winter tires on the Volvo. I've never put winter tires on any vehicle I've owned. The only time that having a different set of tires would've been nifty for me was driving on low-profile "Max Performance Summer" tires in 6" of snow. That was a day I shouldn't have driven the Jag. The truck or the Lincoln would have done just fine.

Rest of the time, whatever tires are on the car suffice just fine.

yea i keep my summer tires

I should point out that the Goodyear Wranglers on my Jeep are my year round tires. I don't have anything special for winter. When the wet season runs 9 months of the year, why bother?
