Just got back from Williamsburg Virginia late Saturday night; just in time to fly up to Alfred NY to see our litlun in college there. We flew in to 4G6 from LOM and got .6 actual and then last night departed into a 500 foot overcast layer and stayed IMC until ETX, and got another 1.1 actual IMC. Had a big ole fat lightning strike 12 o'clock for a mile or so, but couldn't be for sure on the distance as we were IMC. The ride remained very smooth though.

While down in Virginia, I did visit the Aviation Museum located at Richmond International and took a bunch of pictures there. I put some on the blog should you care to take a look. I think it was day two.

There is a ton of cool things to see down there too. I wanted to tour the original Air Force One that is located at Presidents Park, but it had been taken to the National Convention so it wasn't in town. Still, the park itself is way cool!

Ya'll Be Particular,

Shane

Nice Pics, thanks for sharing. Glad to hear you had a good vacation, missed you at Kutztown, we'll have to catch up again sometime soon.

Air Force One is not an aircraft, it's a callsign. It was first used during the Eisenhower administration when a Lockheed VC-121 was the primary aircraft for presidential transport.

The Air Force One exhibit normally at Presidents Park was built using, I believe, a Boeing 727 fuselage. It never served as Air Force One.

True - but it's like Q-Tips or Jello; one knows what you're talking about. Air Force One, Marine One, etc...

Thanks the same...

When I hear people talking about Q-tips, I know they're referring to cotton swabs. When I hear people talking about Jello, I know they're referring to flavored gelatin. When I hear someone say, "the original Air Force One that is located at Presidents Park", I know he's NOT talking about a radio callsign.
