I notice you can get wiki to work if you repeatedly press esc while it loads. Looked stuff up to test.
Apparently still works on mobile devices too.
or if you disable Javascript.
 
And that's what SOPA will be like, you'll just do something really easy and work right around it.
 
So even if they succeed, it will be pointless.
I guess I vote to not do it. So many downsides and, as you point out, ineffective.
 
Actually it looks like you hit esc just before the black screen appears. Both on home page and any search you start.

A stop button on the browser is fine too. I suspect that was done on purpose since a system wide HTTP redirect would have taken approximately 30 seconds to implement and been more effective.

If you're using Chrome, just type "cache:" in front of the whatever link gives you the black screen, and voila...all fixed.
 
I think it's funny watching you guys do exactly what soapa would have people doing to pirate stuff, spending 30 seconds figuring out one of the many many ways around it, while leaving innocent victims as the only victims.
