Who has a drone?

I got my son a phantom
3 pro last year. Great little drone. We've had it out over 2 miles but that goes down substantially if anything gets between you and the drone. The 3 pro can be purchased new for 800 or so. we are getting the 4 pro this year for Christmas. The obstacle sensors and 4K/60 frame rate were the main selling points for us.

It's only doing it on our iPad Mini. We just bought several 3rd gens. I'm wondering if their too old for the 4. My iPhone 6 works perfectly.
I googled the IP mini and the cpu speed is 1.5 or less depending on the model... DJI app won't run good video on that... its just too slow... gotta get above 2.1 for consistent results...

Custom Cinetank MK-2L

Paid less, but if you were to replicate it, probably cost more than the DJI. It is pretty high performance and can be reconfigured for a bunch of different missions, I also used a camera and bought a different lense for it, so same price for me, a bit more to re make it.

I like this! Might be a stupid question, but are you able to attach the GoPro to the bottom of the drone? Or is it only made to fit on the top as it shows on the website?

So this is where the custom part comes in, here's a photo of the front of my cinetank, it's got some 3D printed parts and nice gimbal, I can shoot in full stabilized mode, FPV, heading hold, auto, or manually control the camera, left, right, etc, I can go just a hair over 180* of view forward, straight down and not get anything in my frame.

That camera isn't the one I have, that's the old owners one, currently running a GoPro 4black with a ragecam 5.4mm IR lense.

Very cool. I never knew they had something that could simply connect to a GoPro. (should of known;)). I was looking on the flying cinema website and it looks more like what I was looking for. Thanks!

As far as control, depending on what you need to be able to access while airborn, check these out

And here

I'm not super techy, so my only concern is having difficulty getting everything set up going the custom route. I see on littlesmartthings, they sell the "NimboOne" which looks to have an external mount for the GoPro pre-installed. What's the installation process like for the one you have?

OK, Necro post time...
I've had a couple of smaller drones and played with friends DJI's, but never felt compelled to buy one. Just too expensive, big, and complicated. That just changed for me. The new DJI Spark is a VERY capable video drone, that is much smaller, less expensive, and simpler to operate. DJI took a look at the barriers to drone use and tried eliminate them, to make drones more accessible to average people. It worked, I'm anxiously waiting for delivery.
To begin with, you can fly this thing and do many things without any sort of controller at all! One mode of operation uses nothing more than simple hand gestures! You could launch it, position it, take pictures, and retrieve/land it with hand movements. Or you can use a cell phone or tablet to control it, and do some very sophisticated things. And there is a dedicated controller that gives you crazy control up to a mile away. Check it out:

Although we don't call them drones, I guess they fit the definition:
