If you can't trust your A&P there's a problem, they should be #1.

MX manuel, Then A&E/IA, then AC43.13. Really, no particular order, but those are my "big 3" references for the care and feeding of aircraft.

Some service manuals are better than others. The Citabria and Lake service manuals have great crayola crayon drawings of parts and in depth instructions on how to do everything if you can read between the lines.A combination of my A&P and Type Club are the main go-to. I'm fortunate to have a very collaborative A&P and a great type club. The service manual is a must for me, too.
