Which Cirrus?

No, it really is not. I have about 200 hours in the SR20, and I love it, but it is more a 145ktas with a 14,000 ceiling.
I wouldn't even want to take it above 10. It sucks up high and heavy. The 22 is a far better travel machine. 20 works for training and shorter hops.

I don't think skiers and snowboarders are the same nor are sailers v power boaters.. but the RV guy is much closer to the Cirrus guy than the other analogies. In my income and "time available to fly" bracket I'm renting, and after years of ripped up Pipers and Archers the extra money per hour to me is worth it for a Cirrus for a comfortable and relatively simple, fast plane for local trips. If time and money permitted I would be open to building an experimental down the line.
I feel similarly about it.

I don't hate any airplanes, and also don't understand the vehement prejudicial hatred of any type of pilot.

Go fly an airplane.

It is the difference between what they say and what it actually can do. Remember, I'm a Cirrus fan--but I'm not dreaming. Get the SR22 and you'll see much better numbers.

Not in this case. The SR20 has gotten a new higher HP engine with higher torque. The SR22 is still positioned between the SR20 and SR22T with 183ktas max cruise and the same ceiling of 17,500 (non turbos) and the SR22T with 213ktas max cruise and FL250 ceiling.

All I can say is, "perhaps."

15 hp is good, and well-needed. Even the humble SR20 should not be considered a trainer in the sense of a PA-140 or C-150, and it deserves the extra h.p.

Where are you getting numbers on the improved torque?

It did OK for me at 12, fully loaded on hot days, but that was about it.

I just liked it for the comfort and relative speed.
