I have read on here that eBay's policy in the Motors section is different in that it allows a buyer to still have an inspection and accept or reject the item after the bidding has ended regardless of what the seller says. Can anyone point me to this policy? I have been looking and I can't find anything one way or the other from eBay. I don't want to pay for a pre-buy on a plane I might not even win but I don't want to be committed to a plane I win without a pre-buy.

The seller usually stipulates how long you have to get the inspection after you win .usually specified in the payment section.

There's no policy, because listings on Motors aren't really auctions at all- it is just a advertising medium with an auction-like game incorporated into it.

Since the auction does not create a binding agreement of any kind (other than the lister's obligation to pay eBay, of course), no point in fussing around with other terms.

Interesting. Is the listing fee a percentage like the rest of the auctions or is it flat rate?

While I 1000000000% agree with Spike. DON'T WIN an auction on eBay. The sellers more times than not think they're selling beanie babies on the main site and have upper hand and the full power of the ebay police if you dont pay up on their terms. Contact the seller, prepurchase agreement, escrow, lien search, prebuy, set dates and numbers. If you do win and the seller starts making demands....it's a good clue to walk away.

Good point.

Is there a place in eBay Motors where it spells all of this out?
