I was reading a thread on the purple side when the entire board suddenly disappeared and was replaced with a message that it had been moved to a new server. Huh? Anybody know "Wassup"?

Edit...A few minutes later and it's back. Strange.

It was a one-eye, one-horned, flying purple people eater.
 
Must be hosted with Dreamhost.
They are doing a lot of server moving right now and he has some tags that are related to his "old" server.
 
If you move a bulletin board or website from one server to the other, it takes a little while before every computer / router / switcharoo along the way knows about the new address.

It's the internet tubes at work, you know, it's not like a pickup truck.

Apparently the host changed the IP address or something without notifying anybody.

What that means, I don't know.

Doesn't have to be that way. You can move about anything anywhere without anyone noticing provided you put enough effort/thought into it. Sometimes the amount of effort required though doesn't make sense compared to a small outage.
