My right arrow key broke today. It's the little plastic lock underneath. HP will replace the keyboard under warranty but I have to clean off all the sensitive data, ship it to them and wait 7-10 business days.

Anybody know where to buy one key? Too bad my old dell doesn't use the same keyboard.

Joe

If it were the "W" key, I know where you might find one :D

When my daughter broke a key off her new Dell laptop Dell sent me a new keyboard with instructions on how to replace it free of charge.

It was a 10 minute job.

Try an aftermarket supplier. It's possible you'll find the plastic retainer available as part of a repair kit.

I just had to replace the keyboard. Support fella said it was almost the same price on my lap top.

Best,

Thanks Steve,

It looks like http://www.laptopkey.com/index.php sells individual keys for $5 + $1.50 shipping although their payPal link doesn't work for me and I'll probably have to wait until Monday before someone answers the phone.
