Final Approach
When I said "adventure" I was talking more about flying . . . how much is AVGAS these days?
Kimberly
Kimberly
However, I do have an ass, gas, or grass policy. And I don't smoke weed, so....
$5.00ish a gallon. but I charge $50/hr just for the pleasure of being in my company.
So Kim should ride with Grant and Leslie...
So $50 / hour plus $5 per gallon - how many gallons of fuel does your plane consume per hour and how long is the trip to 6Y9? I will start a lemonade stand now to be prepared. Or take on a second job at McDonald's for minimum wage.
Kimberly
And I give my vote to Leslie to cast! Finally, someone voted. Besides the two pilots. So, one vote for Grant and Leslie, zero votes for Ed.
So Kim should ride with Grant and Leslie...
Was it ever really in doubt which one she should go with. I mean, it is me we are talking about.
What does that even mean? Should I be afraid?
$65/hr in fuel, $50/hr for me. 2 hour flight. AND you get to cheat death by flying over lake michigan in a single!
What does that even mean? Should I be afraid?
Ummm..., he's not kidding about flying over Lake Michigan in a single.Hmmmmm.......... you are making it very tough for me to decide. I sense a bit of silliness in your posts.
Like I'm a tarantula. Or an African scorpion.

Very! He's a wolf in wolf's clothing just waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting damsel. On the other hand, I think Liz slept on his couch and survived the encounter so maybe he's not so bad (or pretty good, you'd have to ask Liz).
EdFredYou get to ride in the front seat of the Comanche with me or the back seat of a 182 with Grant. But the flight might be more enjoyable with Grant and Leslie.
EdFred
Do you fly over big water or do you cross farther north near Fox or Beaver Island? You might want to find out if Kimberly is a good swimmer.

Really? Lake Michigan can be very cold but not as bad in the fall. Superior is always cold, bring your dry suit if you want to dive there.I used to be a certified life guard (teenager), and I am SCUBA certified for life, and I have been meaning to take surfing lessons but that 9mil wetsuit is a pain in the rear. CA is coooold.....
So yeah, I can at least do the dead man's float.
Wait now I need to be afraid of his couch? I thought I was only supposed to be afraid of his flying? Yikes.
I don't know, you'd have to ask Liz about the couch.
As for his flying, well, just strap in tight and hope for the best! Personally I think flying with Ed is probably pretty safe. Not because of any particular skill set or anything but because the Comanche is so ugly the Earth repels it.

Sorry, but it won't really help much if you go down in Lake Michigan or, worse yet, Lake Superior. Ask Kent or Scott(?) sometime about the plane that went down in Lake Michigan. The pilot was able to make a cell call from atop the wing, but died of hypothermia before he could be rescued.I don't want to dive there silly. Others are suggesting I might have to swim for my life there! And I don't have a dry suit or a wet suit. I was certified years ago and haven't gone on a dive. I only was trying to say I can (sort of) swim and I have experience with water.
Does this have something to do with magnetic deviation? I am a student pilot, perhaps I could turn this into (another) learning experience.

I will point out, though, that EdFred can make the flight loggable for you if you make it worth his while, but Leslie and I can't (unless you've got your certificate by then.)
OTOH, Ed recently posted that redheads, blondes, and brunettes avoid(?) him. So I'm not sure what it'll take to meet his price!
On the third hand, his mom and dad will be at Sidnaw with us, and might be able to keep him in line, at least while in their sight. (Then again, maybe not.)
Decisions, decisions!
You should. I have been told that we have great shipwreck diving. Lake Superior is hard on ships. In any case the water is cold. I go all the way to the bridge when crossing from the UP to Northern Michigan October through April and cross between Fox and Beaver Island the rest of the year. I suspect that EdFred probably carries inflatable life vests when he flies over the lake.I don't want to dive there silly. Others are suggesting I might have to swim for my life there! Here is an example but it was in December and in 1986, before cell phones.Sorry, but it won't really help much if you go down in Lake Michigan or, worse yet, Lake Superior. What? You mean you can't fly an Arrow in actual IMC in really bad icing conditions over a large body of freezing water and survive? It did not stop the family from filing a lawsuit.Reason for crash: Findings:
(F) OVERCONFIDENCE IN PERSONAL ABILITY - PILOT IN COMMAND(CFI)

I would not worry about flying over Lake Michigan with EdFred, I think he knows what he is doing.
Maybe, but now that sleeping on a couch is involved and there is a $115 per hour charge I am cautious. I should have taken that darned women's self defense class, didn't think I'd ever need it . . .
Wouldn't matter. I used to instruct martial arts.
Darn it, I can't win.
No problem, she generally keeps a gun stuck in the back of her jeans.Just check your gun on your commercial flight. Then no TSA for boarding Ed's plane so you can just have your gun sit on your lap.
Of course you might have to buy a gun first.
