When is a weld OK? Actually, there's no guarantee. Even assemblies welded by trained/certified welders will fail in service. Best odds are with a certified welder familiar with the materials to be welded and is sober (sometimes hard to find.)

UPS it to me with the broken shaft piece, I'll fix the damn thing for free and ship it back, lol Then you'll have a spare for next year.
