I haven't seen anyone stumbling around with them in years.

Weren't those supposed to be mandatory by now ?

Maybe because they charged $1500 for a $69 gizmo ?

I guess it'll look great right next to the 'apple watch' in the drawer that is the 'secret burial ground of forgotten tech gadgets'.

Why was it that so many yuppies were outraged every time they saw someone using them?

People who wore the were called "glass holes"

No. Really.

Glass wasn't killed, it was moved under a different part of Google's corporate structure and went back to an internal project as they tried to work out a way to make it more viable/useful as a consumer product. Believe the new head of the project is the head of the Nest division of Google.

As cool as the technology was, it was overpriced, poorly explained to the public, and poorly presented by users. Apparently it was very well received by certain parts of the medical community as a training tool.

I saw some kid wearing a pair a couple months ago at a burger place.

I resent technology getting smaller, because that drawer always accumulates targets for the eventual shooting get together so with friends.

It was never designed to be a consumer smash-hit. It was a development project that was basically beta-tested to a select few buyers. The technology used in it has been optimized and has filtered its way into other products/ideas from Google. Google Glass wasn't a smartwatch or fitbit, it was more of a proof-of-concept. I bet you'll see it make its way back into the market with a more refined product later on, possibly with industry specific models. (i.e. google glass for the cockpit)

Does your drawer also contain the mouse pointer ring and VR goggles? Better remove the 20-years of dust, hipsters are trying to make them popular again. You might fetch a good price on fleaBay. :)
