Bro do you even lift
do the kids do the 'trick or treat' thing this evening? I need to know when to get out of the house, but don't worry, I'll leave a bucket of crystal meth at the front door with a sign saying "help yourself!"
 
I read that 6p-9p is the recommended time in my neck 'o' the woods. Hopefully you do them a solid and include some business cards for dental work to fix the effects of their newfound meth addiction.
 
You get the tiny tykes out the hour before sunset...most kids dusk till 9p...jackwaggons and people that are too old to be trick or treating 8:30p-9:30p.
 
We already had one group of 5 adults and 3 little kids. That ties our record from last year and beats the prior year. And we give out big candy bars. I wonder who is going to be expected to eat the leftovers. :)

Around here the business districts were swarming with them about 4 PM (and they weren't all little, by any means!). Dunno if the older kids go out later - we never get
any trick or treaters where I live. In my day we didn't start till dusk - and didn't quit till people stopped answering their doors. I used to fill up a full size grocery bag.....

My development is crawling with kids. I snuck out and am drinking beer until probably 10pm* just to make sure they're gone by the time I get home.

*btw 10pm is past my bedtime.

The last couple groups around 8:30 I gave them handfuls trying to get rid of the stuff. Still have some left but closing it down.
 
I never heard of there being an official time or maximum age...

I usually leave the porch and garage lights on until 8 or 9 because I'm not one to hide in my dark house in order to avoid trick or treaters. I get fewer and fewer kids each year anyway.
