Joe Farrell, yeah, him
It is a never ending source of amusement, isn't it.

Now, it completes a page post for a new search but there is no content displayed - a blank page- no its not me. Different browsers return the same result . .

It like so 1999 over there . . .

Well, of course it's because AOPA is lacking in money to do decent web admin. They only have a ~hundred mil sitting in the bank, but that's reserved for exec bonuses.

A baseball cap and a broken forum all for only 45 bucks. Sign me up.

I did not know they still had a web board.

It's gotta be embarrassing for them. They should give up hosting their own board and sub it out. They only have about 200 people online at a time. For $330 /mo they could have 450 simultaneous users at Invision Power Board, zero technical problems, and save $100K+ on IT people (who haven't been doing a good job). We've been using them for CTFlier.com for years, with almost 0 down time. One forum I visit a lot, BleepingComputer.com, uses them with around 4,000 people online at the same time, with almost no downtime.

Running a board like this isn't rocket science. We put very minimal work into maintaining the PoA infrastructure but it helps that we're actually competent I suppose.

If I were making AOPA's decisions I would run it on Amazon AWS. If they don't have the skills to do so they should find someone that does.

Red board has worked well for me for the last few months. I'm not seeing the problems that used to exist.

what are these other boards anyway?
red board, blue board, yellow board...

What are they?

The purpleboard for postmenopausal womyn, love it over there, working the slow troll these days.

I maintain a busier and more involved (with extensive) vBulletin site than either the AOPA or the POA site and it doesn't go down as much as AOPAs. I volunteered to help them get TAPATALK to work with their idiotic double login system (it can be done TAPATALK has the stuff needed to do it) but they told me go take a hike.

Yes, a $20.00/mo linode account and a part time high school kid could keep it up and running better than it is now.

At least you got an answer. I'm in a similar situation and offered to help out back when they were suffering from multi-hour outages, and got no response at all.
