I had an A&P instructor in 1971 that owned one of these. Whenever he crossed the ramp with 2 gallons of oil under his arm we knew he was going to go flying. He had never seen the bird in the air. I owned a Cessna 140 at the time with about 7 or 800 hours of taildragger time. He asked me if I would like to solo it so he could see it from the ground - WOW was that fun! Control wheel like the steering wheel in a car, side throttle like a cub, seat in the back was big enough for 3 as I recall. Interior made a 195 seem small. Wing tips easily towered over most high wing airplanes. It was easier to do wheel landings than my 140. One of the highlights of my flying experiences.
