Which is obviously fake because the Van Allen radiation belt would have destroyed any person or instrument capable of taking such a picture.

I am fairly certain that the Earth does change shape regularly. Indeed, in the spirit of the Spin Zone here's a link from NASA claiming the shape changes are due to global warming.
