So I'm thinking about buying some PoA polos, and I like gray polos and black polos.

What color is Stone?

(In case it's not clear, I have absolutely no idea what "taupe" and "mauve" actually are.)

Depends on the geology where you live.

I try to stick to the ROYGBIV color palette. If the color doesn't include any of the ROYGBIV color names, I am clueless.

There is no such thing as "Man Colors" when referring to clothes. Clothes come in whatever color fits, and will be turned to "grease slick" with all possible haste. :D

Around here, most stones are brown, so you got me.

Nick, you should go for fuschia. ;)

PANTONE is the international color institute. They decide or heavily influence which color palette will be a hit.

It starts with women's fashion in Rome, filters down into women's clothing, then make-up and lipsticks, interior design (soft surfaces, then hard surfaces), home interior and exterior paints, car paint, and finally home appliances.

Men's clothes pretty much stay the same except for Armani, et al .

It takes about 20-36 months for the new palette to filter through the various industries.

Ha! I wouldn't call any of these colors "stone". :dunno:

Ok. LOL. I didn't think it would be that difficult.

So - I want to order a grayish polo...what color, off the PoA Apparel site, would y'all suggest?

If it's that Devon & Jones polo, these are the colors off their website.

Stone... gray with a brownish tint.

Of course I'm the one who picked the exterior color of my house from a paint swatch and it turned out completely different than I imagined. I have been living with the "pumpkin house" for a few years.

Looks like the closest thing is "Grey heather...."

Maybe I'll just get some black ones.

To which part of Sharon are you referring?

Ivory? Indigo? Infrared?

Only infrared is suitably 'mannish'. So what are you trying to tell us?

Good choice. It hides petroleum and food stains. Although spilled beer shows prominently.

I don't know why men think of color before thinking of how the garment will hide stains. I mean isn't the goal one shirt for work, casual, and dress?
