Nothin' on TV, so we had the evening's entertainment right outside the window.

Great time to shoot some instrument approaches! This is why I got my IR! I bet the airline guys were taking off like it was no big deal :p

Habooooooob!

Scary ,I would want to on the ground while that weather went by.

You shoulda been there landing in the MU2!

Sounds like a turning point for the conversation.

Insert your heroic crosswind story here...

It was just a joke. Worst wind I’ve ever landed was gusting somewhere in the 40s. I don’t wanna crash. :)

Worst crosswind was something like 20G35 direct crosswind going to a 2900 ft strip with obstacles at night in the 310.

The MU2 is actually kinda squirrely in crosswinds. I’m getting the hang of it, but I have to pay a lot more attention to where the wind is than I did with any previous plane.

When I was stationed at Luke AFB a commercial DC9 made (I assume) an emergency landing at the base. It's been a long time ago so I don't remember if they went there to beat the storm or if they landed in it. In any case I definitely remember the PAX deplaning in the midst of it.

You gotta add half the gust factor to your landing speed... Isnt that close to full rental power in a 150?

First, there's no difference between full rental power and regular full power in a 150. Second, to answer your question, yes.
