No...I did not lose my job. I have spent a LOT of money on flying, you all know where I am coming from. My wife has asked for little in return, being very supportive and understanding, even when it means spending a thousand dollars here and there to support my habit.

My wife is a hard worker, becoming the youngest officer of her bank, and has worked her way up from teller to VP and main branch manager where she supervises over 25 people and the main HQ staff. She also is finishing her Masters, all the while doing her best to keep me happy.

So today I made her happy, and spent some money on her.....she now owns a BMW 545i. Here are some pics: http://www.atlantaofflease.com/view/1057/pictures She is on cloud 9, and smiling even now, seven hours after picking it up. BTW...this is one hell of a car, even I have to admit that! Thought I would share.....

The nice thing about that is, you won't have to buy her another car for years. My wife is driving an '03 530i which is just an absolutely phenomenal car. I mentioned trading it in for something newer, maybe 7 series, and she scoffed. Every time I drive it I understand why!!!

Just had to show the MSRP in that pic, eh? :D
Twice as much as a good airplane, and it doesn't even fly. :nonod:

But that's a lifetime of Brownie points right there... dude, you are bullet-proof now. :D

Just so people do not think I am being a snob or anything, notice the website. That was the MSRP in '05, trust me we did not pay ANYWHERE near that for the car, as a matter of fact we paid less than 50% of that. The economy right now is good for somethings, such as cheap-er luxury vehicles!

Besides this is reducing the sting of this years $2K annual! :D

I gave up on Beemers a few years ago due to MX costs, as did many others. They countered their terrible reputation by implementing a long and comprehensive warranty program, and I am told by friends who still drive them that it is something you want if you own one.

You might want to look into into the cost of maintaining that program, not the cheapo's that take your money and don't cover anything that breaks.

Nice unit, amazing that a 5-series can list in the 60's. They were 40-something the last time I looked. They have always been the best handling car in the line.

Our 530 has been mx free. Amazing for any car. One sweet ride!

Nice car! Although I think the price listed for the last option above the MSRP is a bit misleading...

Back in slightly headier times my business partner and I each got a new 545i as a company car. Both 6 speeds no less. It really is an awesome car; your wife will be very happy.
The BMW is gone (and the business partner), but I've still got the Mooney. Gotta keep one's priorities right :D

Wow. Heady times indeed!!!

Wow, almost as nice as the 1998 olds 88 I just bought my wife Looks like new and and it is a Series 10!!! That is 10 yrs newer than the old Olds she used to drive.

She works so hard and in our business and deserved every piece of that Olds.

We are debt free and staying that way. We are saving money for another Airplane may be a another Six or a Twin.

Debt free equals TIME TO LIVE.

Read up on the 7-series before you buy. I think you will be happier with the 5-series, although the 6-series looks pretty sweet!

I have an M-Roadster. Only maintenance on it has been a battery, a ring resistor for the airbag sensor and a couple of dash light bulbs. The dealer keeps trying to buy back the car from us at higher than what we paid. The M-Roadsters are in demand still. I think they made a design mistake when they went to the Z-4 styling.

So very true!

Tom, sell the Beemer and get yourself an "Extra" aircraft... literally. :)

LOL..it is the wife's car and she would kill me if I even THOUGHT of selling it!

BTW, I still get a thrill with this car, just got one last night!:D

Ditto. I had a 850Ci. I had to replaced the exhaust, brakes and rotors. I was floored when I got the bill ( $7600 :yikes:)
