Weird Spam

Anyone else getting a big surge of spam today? I've had my primary email address for nigh on 10 years, and in that time, I've only gotten a handful of spam, but today it seems every depraved hole of the internet has decided to email me.

I haven't signed up for anything new recently. I still use a spam account for most sign ups that require email address....

Sounds like your provider had a filter problem. Around 60% of all email on the internet is spam, and your email provider intercepts a lot before it gets to you.
Then questionable things go in your spam folder for your review.
Company spam filters partially fail from time to time, and we get hammered. Also, some spammer figures out a way to dodge the algorithm (for a very short period of time).

Either that, or some particularly aggressive spammer just found you email address. Unlikely, but possible.

Oh yeah, what does the email say? Did someone send spam with your email address as the reply-to, and you're getting the bouncebacks?

Its gmail, so its possible their junk mail filter is on the blink.
