Ack...city life
What kind of weather would allow an anvil to separate from it's base and float adrift for an hour or so?
The typical TS formation sequence...after development, the base falls out the bottom and dissipates into no visible moisture. Yet the classical anvil remains visible with all the trailers leading out. It takes over one hour for any visible signs of dissipation, which appears to occur at the same altitude as original anvil formation.
Sorry, I pulled a Nick and left my camera elsewhere.
For reference, this was over Big Bear, CA on the afternoon of 16AUG.
