We lost Moma Bird yesterday

I'd never heard of her. Touching story and sad news.

Yes she was a great lady, a great teacher evidently, and was a treasure to the flying community. She will be missed. RIP

RIP. Proof of the UCAP/Higdon's phrase: "Time spent flying does not deduct from your lifespan."

I met her about 5 months before her 100th birthday. What an incredible lady. Even at 100, she had more life in her little finger than most people have their entire life. She still showed up for work as the airport manager 5 days a week. She said she would have come in on Saturday and Sunday but no one would give her a ride to work. They thought she needed her time off. "Silly people" she said.

Yes it is sad news. She was a wonderful lady and a wonderful teacher. I'm sorry you never got the chance to meet her. You would have liked her.
