VSI recommendations

So VSI on my son's Aerobat A150K 1969 is "leaking". Everything esle that was actually required for IFR was fine, plane surprisingly passed but that's when VSI came up . We do want to replace VSI . I want to make sure I get the right one for the plane. Can anyone suggest what size and brand that's reasonably priced that we can install? We are not ready to upgrade the avionics yet so sixpack stuff that can slide right in would be it. If there is something reasonable that's more updated and would work with our very basic setup as well as with some future glass - I would look at that as well. Suggestions are much appreciated

Do you have time to get the current unit overhauled? Or, possibly get an overhaul/exchange?

I would imagine so. This is not a required something to be in order to fly. It still shows reading with delay. I would rather get new one so that we dont have issues and just swap

I would get the model number off your VSI and send pics to them.

Might be worth calling your local shop, they may have a shelf full of surplus vacuum gauges from folks who upgraded to glass.
