The vanes or the spinner? The vanes turn the forward part of the spinner independent of the aft part, it runs a hydraulic pump for the constant speed prop.

Yeah, a RAT, more or less. Really 'just' a self-contained constant-speed prop. The spinner cap ('windmill') pushes in or out under airloads to open a hydraulic valve to change blade pitch, and the spinning of the windmill relative to the hub drives the hydraulic pump in the hub that pressurizes the system. Kinda elegant. Fixed vanes.

I actually thought about you on our trip to Alaska a few weeks ago. My exact thought was "between the 4 doors and all the double-entedre beaver jokes, this is the perfect plane for Bryan!"
