is this any good? trying to figure out what the difference is between the free ones at NAAA and AOPA VREF and this paid one.

I subscribed to VREFonline and found that it was more granular (more options) to help hone pricing vs. AOPA VREF. But condition is still subjective and you input a negative number to decrease value based upon what YOU think the decrease in value should be. However, it does give nice print-outs to show a prospective seller why you think the value should be what it is... whereupon (in my experience) the seller will stop talking to you.

Overall (using a baseball metaphor) - AOPA VREF gets you in the ballpark, VREF Online gets you onto the field, but you're going to have to either use a paid valuation service or broker to help hone to get you to within the diamond or even closer to home base.
