The system is broken, the vets who need it the most are at the back of the line while the ones who know how to fill out the right paperwork upon separation receive benefits they shouldn't get.

Agreed. It frustrates my wife, an Army surgeon, to near tears.
Unfortunately anyone attempting a real fix to the system will be labeled as "against veterans" and those screaming the loudest will be those getting the undeserved benefits. Look what happens when one tries to dismantle the Department of Stupidity... I mean Education. Anyone suggesting this hates children and wants us all to be uneducated. Never mind that test standards have gone down since its inception, let's just throw more money at it. Or the billion dollar industry of "food stamps" or DBTs. Wait... were people starving on the streets before its inception? The list is endless. All this money going to DC and making people there richer. It is really becoming like the capital in "The Hunger Games".
