I am looking at a salvaged aircraft with a G1000 dual screen panel. How much do you think they are worth? I hear when new they were $30,000.00 a piece but not sure how much truth there is to that.

G1000 is type specific and not transferrable to other types or even same type A/C originally without G1000. A quality used G1000 is only good for replacement parts for an identical aircraft. Experimental guys would rather have a Garmin G3X, which has the same capabilities and uses the same software base as the G1000 for a fraction of the cost and weight.

I don't know what kind of deal manufacturers get from Garmin, but SteinAir lists the price of a G900 (experimental version of the G1000) at about $75K !!!
