USAF National Museum - Virtual Tour - Very cool!

As cool as virtual tours are, I highly, highly recommend going to Wright-Pat in person.
I went to a wedding in Columbus, and on the way back home made the detour to the USAF Museum with my girlfriend. (I cannot even begin to describe how displeased she was-- she doesn't always share my love of airplanes, and especially not the day after a late night of wedding festivities.)
Simply put, the museum is amazing.
Nice find, and I'm happy that the tour is online for those who will never pass through or around Dayton... but still, it's pretty great in person.

It's an amazing and comprehensive collection.

The USN Aviation museum is a MUCH better experience.

i found the TG-3, -4 and CG-4A. I guess they don't have the P-82 on display yet or i missed it. very cool website.

They have two Twin Mustangs on display: Betty Jo and a night fighter. One is in the Korea gallery, the other is in the Cold War gallery, but I don't remember which one is in which gallery.

Just got an email from a friend of mine:

That's very cool.

If you click on Southeast Asia War, the bottom left dot, you will see one of the A-7's (MB 970) I flew with the Myrtle Beach squadron back in '72. Same serial number--it's in my logbook. Maybe they'll make a spot for me in the museum as well :-)
