That's great news!! I heard NPR's original story about the USPS cutting the route back in April (well done story, worth the listen):

So do you work for the post office? and do they have an operators permit? Are they 135?
You fly people too? For whom are you working then? Who holds that certificate? are you holding out?
You fly groceries for pay? To whom? Just anyone who'll pay you? Where's your operators permit?

The various operators who have or had USPS contracts have their own Part 135 certificate, it's part of the application process to obtain the contract.
