Decided to add IFR so I can do some training.

Have the dual G3X already. Adding GPS 175 and G5 w a GAD29 for this to talk to G3X

I’ve really been impressed with Elevate Avionic at KLUA Luray Caverns Matt Queen has stayed on budget and impressively on the timing with was downtime of <1week!!!

I’m excited to be able to play with the new toys

Good to know!

Question - has the Bristell gained approval for flight in the clouds or do you always need to remain in VMC?
My understanding it depend

I can fly and file IFR as an S-LSA but NOT IMC

If I convert to E-LSA I can fly in IMC. That piece of paper designator makes all the difference which is idiotic. It’s basically taking the risk/liability off the manufacturer. I’d rather sign a liability waiver and keep S-LSA for resale value

Can’t wait for an FAA modernization maybe in 2030

4 days and it’s almost ready!!! Mostly programming and paperwork left. They stuck to timeline and budget. I initially went to someone local at KHGR that’s a new shop South Mountain they took a deposit and two weeks later hadn’t touched the plane but ordered parts. Ended up being absolute horrible to deal with, Matt and team more than made up for that experience!

Can’t wait to test this all out, a friend told me the Garmin 175 is very easy to use!

Thanks. That’s what I thought.

Well went to get plane today no joy!

Immediately had red X across Nav1 which means something wasn’t connected the GNC-255

Also on my remote Com1 we had horrible interference but comm 2 was fine. Never had that issue before

Finally the GPS175 had a static error message so left the plane with the shop. :-(
