Ack...city life
Having a ball flying tours over and around Lake Powell.

But the real reason for this post is to say how much I have learned from POA. I took it for granted how valuable the information I've gotten from y'all. There are more than a handful of pilots here ("here" is Lake Powell) who seem so inferior and in several cases, dangerous.

In retrospect I have determined that was is missing is they typically have not kept abreast with proficiency and/or they, in my view and most likely yours, are too accomodating of lowered precision in their basic flying and navigation. (Interestingly, they make up for this "lack" by adopting behavior reminiscent of a maverick hotshot.)

The point is not to boast of myself but to point out the value of what I have gleaned from POA over the years. Most definately does education and knowledge directly effect performance. POA has been highly educational.

Give yourself a pat on the back!

From the rest of your comments, I take it that "here" refers to Lake Powell, not PoA? Thanks!

Haha, Grant....good way to explain that, its how I read the post at first too...was thinking "Oh no...what's Richard doing?!?"

SOunds like a blast there in Powell tho!

LOL! I'm guessing you mean some of the airport locals and not your coworkers. I have a feeling I know some of whom you speak ;)

Next time you see Tug (if you haven't met him yet you should) tell him that if he ever wants to sell his 182 I will be first in line to buy it. Whether he knows it or not he was my mentor.

Where do they have you living?

We keep crossing paths but I have not yet formally met Tug.

I found my own place. Aramark's staff lodging burned down a month before the season started so that exaggerated an already tight housing market. Which leads me to a comment I never thought I would utter:

I'm fortunate to have found a mobile home.

Eessh! Anyway, I'm roomies with another pilot--we're ground central for the other pilots; my room mate has Wii and I love to BBQ (they all think I'm a great cook but that's coming from guys who barely know how to open a can of beans without supervision).
