I saw this y'day with 30,000 other Northen Virginia residents and a few friends of mine (likely more friends of mine were in the crowd).

Good movie with some surprises. I liked the part where he was trying to explain to the young woman why St. Louis airport was so important.

Clooney didn't steal the show, believe it or not. I do however find it grossly unfair that he gets better looking every year.

Do you know anyone with 10 million miles on one airline? I wonder how many total airmiles I have myself. I only started collecting United Miles maybe 5 yrs ago, I can't remember, and I never bothered to open any other airline account. I had tons of trips on Virgin Atlantic and several on Air France none of which were recorded.

Clooney? Was he in the movie? I thought it was about Anna Kendrick!! :)

As did I. But then again, we're guys...

Beth, I have about 4 million miles on 4 airlines, and a lot on one that doesn't use "miles" as a criteria (Southwest). I have met someone on one of my flights that was well over 6 million (5 years ago), he was traveling to Asia 2-3 times a month, plus domestic and Europe travel.

Hmm. Wonder how many "Miles" I have.

Not that it counts for anything. :nonod:

I had to laugh at Clooney's airport drill. I'm pretty similar - I have it all down to a science and get through very quickly. That was before Xmas of course, my next intl flight is bound to **** me off. If they are serious about "only one bag, period" this is going to be interesting. I can do "one bag only" because my second bag is SOLELY for my camera equipment - but it's still going to be a PITA.

It the hours that you have that count. Whereas my miles count, my hours are useless, wasted, and gone for ever. :frown3::frown3:

Funny thing when I was flying AA a lot was that a 767 captain that I am friends with on AA and I compared notes. I was flying on AA more than he was as a full timer. :yikes:

That was a brutal couple of years!!

Seems that they are backing away from that knee jerk stuff. BTW the only thing I noticed flying this past week domestically was that they were turning off the entertainment system about 30 minutes prior to landing.

NOT internationally. Canada currently has a no-carryon rule (like the UK did when the war on water started), London, Brussels, and Amsterdam have a "one carryon only" rule. Link to United's missive on this

Hard to take any camera equipment if you can't carry it on. I'm not about to check mine and all it's parts and pieces.

No, but it's not as uncommon as it sounds. Most people that have a few million that I know, though, didn't get those from flying domestically only (like Clooney in the movie). That doesn't sound like fun at all.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by the movie, and they need a FF to check some of their facts. I know it's a movie, but still - Hertz Gold, HHonors? About the only thing that not everybody has is Concierge Key, and even that isn't that hard to get. How about some real frequent flyer advisors? :nono::D
