United Airlines buys Westwind School of Aeronautics in Phoenix

I used to use Deer Valley Airport (where Westwind is based) when I visited family members in the area, but one time the wait to take off got so ridiculous that I switched to Glendale instead. (Later I found out that Glendale is more convenient for my relatives anyway!)

Lufthansa Aviation Training is based at Goodyear. They train pilots for Lufthansa and affiliated carriers, as well as the German Air Force.

"Aspiring pilots that have qualified for a career at a Lufthansa Group Germany airline complete their flight training at our flight school in Phoenix, Arizona."​







They also own the airport at Mobile AZ (1AZ0), complete with its own ILS.
